I have the sad honor of representing the family of a man who was a tow truck driver. While stopping along a highway to help a stranded motorist, an inattentive driver came by, swerved into the stopped tow truck and killed the tow truck driver.
Drivers need to respect the people who work along the side of roads, whether construction workers, emergency personnel, law enforcement, tow truck drivers, etc. Please remember that these are human beings with families and friends. They’re members of your Church, they play on your softball team, they have kids that go to the same school as your children. They’re human beings. Be careful. Slow down when you see workers. Pay close attention to what’s around you. One life lost to an inattentive driver is one life too many.
